Softball Recap: Bryan Vikings vs. Temple Wildcats
Bryan extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-17. They came up short against the Temple Wildcats, falling 11-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in March.
As for Temple, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.
For Temple's part, Brenna Thomas was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Saniya Maxwell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. London Armour was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
