Newton takes on Grayson in matchup of top 10 squads.

This week's high school football schedule in Georgia is headlined by a battle of Rams when No. 7 Newton (Covington) travels to No. 9 Grayson (Loganville) on Friday night.

Newton comes in with a 5-0 record after taking down No. 11 Westlake (Atlanta) on Sept. 15. Led by junior four-star running back Zion Johnson and senior three-star wide receiver Keon Davis, Newton has averaged 37 points per game this season. The defense has allowed just 26 points all year while posting two shutouts.

Since falling to No. 2 Walton (Marietta) in the season-opener, Grayson has ripped off four straight wins including three shutouts. Five-star sophomore linebacker Tyler Atkinson paces the team with five sacks.

Another in-state top 25 matchup is No. 23 Lee County (Leesburg) at undefeated No. 14 Houston County (Warner Robins).

Four-star junior quarterback Antwann Hill Jr. leads the way for Houston County and he has a trio of three-star seniors to throw to in Recordo Tarver (Georgia Southern), Ricky Johnson (Stanford) and Kale Woodburn (Cincinnati). Lee County is 4-1 and led by four-star running back Ousmane Kromah, who has more than 800 yards of total offense and 12 touchdowns.

No. 4 Colquitt County (Norman Park) will host Lincoln (Tallahassee), the No. 29 team in Florida. Another big out-of-state matchup will occur when No. 16 Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap) takes its 6-0 record to Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, N.C.), ranked No. 22 in North Carolina.
