Softball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Mica Mountain's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mica Mountain can now relate to. They lost 6-0 to the Sahuarita Mustangs on Tuesday. The Thunderbolts' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Acelynn-Rose Heston was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases.

Heston wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Shaylee Fuell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Mica Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Sahuarita, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 25-5.

As of now, neither Mica Mountain nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
