Volleyball Recap: Pope County Triumphs

Pope County can bid farewell to their three-match losing streak thanks to their match on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Hardin County Cougars 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Pope County got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 19-25, 25-19.

Pope County's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Hardin County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Pope County and Dongola will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Demons have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hardin County, they will square off against Gallatin County at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
