Preview: Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars vs. Immaculate Mustangs
After two games on the road, Kolbe-Cathedral is heading back home. They will take on the Immaculate Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Saturday, Kolbe-Cathedral came up short against East Hampton and fell 60-51.
Meanwhile, Immaculate faced Conard in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Immaculate was the victim of a tough 58-33 defeat at the hands of Conard on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Immaculate has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Immaculate saw an underclassman step up: Kendra Foy scored 12 points along with three steals. That was a full 36.4% of Immaculate's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Miller, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Kolbe-Cathedral's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Immaculate, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Kolbe-Cathedral might still be hurting after the 61-35 loss they got from Immaculate when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Kolbe-Cathedral, Colleen Blackman (who scored 18 points along with five steals and three blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
