Baseball Recap: Schurr Comes Up Short

Schurr blew Bell Gardens out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Bell Gardens got their revenge. The Spartans fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Spartans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Schurr saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Schurr's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Bell Gardens, they moved to 10-13 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Schurr had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
