Basketball Game Preview: Laurens Raiders vs. Westside Rams

Laurens is 0-10 against Westside since January of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Laurens Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Westside Rams at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Laurens comes in on three and Westside on five.

On Saturday, Laurens earned a 40-31 victory over Clinton.

Meanwhile, Westside has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 29.28 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They strolled past Military Magnet Academy with points to spare, taking the game 73-55.

Westside pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Laurens, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Things could have been worse for Laurens, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-31 loss to Westside when the teams last played back in January. Can Laurens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
