Basketball Recap: Grace Community Takes a Loss

After flying high against Brighter Horizons Academy last Tuesday, Grace Community came back down to earth. The Grace Community Cougars took a blow against the Brentwood Christian Bears on Friday, falling 70-43. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-60 back in January.

Brentwood Christian was led to victory by Marcus Zelee and Blake Petty. Zelee went 5 for 11 on his way to 11 points along with eight assists and seven boards, while Petty dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Zelee has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Coleston Allen, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Grace Community has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 21-14 record this season. As for Brentwood Christian, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 25-8.

Grace Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-46 loss against Brook Hill on the 8th. As for Brentwood Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 62-53 victory against Bishop Dunne on the 8th.
