Recap: Pelham Memorial Pelicans vs. Ardsley Panthers
The Pelham Memorial Pelicans's 15-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a hard 48-34 fall against Ardsley on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pelham Memorial in their matchups with Ardsley: they've now lost three in a row.
Ardsley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Iva Corluka led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Corluka is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Bortstein, who scored 13 points.
Pelham Memorial now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Ardsley, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pelham Memorial will square off against Yorktown at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Yorktown is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. Ardsley will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Tappan Zee at 4:30 p.m. on January 25th.
