With a playoff game on the line, Portsmouth rose to the challenge on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cranston West Falcons 34-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Patriots have posted against the Falcons since September 16, 2016.

Joe Sanderson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 234 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Those 234 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adam Conheeny, who picked up 54 receiving yards.

Portsmouth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cranston West only rushed for 113.

Portsmouth didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Michael Faria and Jackson Hackley.

The win (which was Portsmouth's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Cranston West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Portsmouth will square off against North Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Portsmouth is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Cranston West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
