Softball Recap: Dripping Springs Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dripping Springs had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against Stony Point by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering Dripping Springs has won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sadie Bradford made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Bradford was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jai-Lynn Flores and Tatum Green did most of the damage at the plate: Flores got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Green went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Green has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lorelei Gamble, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Dripping Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stony Point only posted an OBP of .211.

Dripping Springs pushed their record up to 24-8-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Stony Point, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-8-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dripping Springs beat Stony Point by a score of 4-0 on Friday.
