Soccer Recap: Wilmington Comes Up Short

Wilmington lost against Beecher back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Wilmington fell 5-3 to Beecher. Wilmington have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alaina Clark and Audrey Powlick scored all three of Wilmington's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Beecher, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Wilmington will square off against Reed-Custer at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give Wilmington their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Beecher, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Beecher duke it out with Manteno at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Their defense better be ready for this one: Manteno has averaged an impressive 3.2 goals per game this season.
