Basketball Game Preview: West-Oak Warriors vs. Daniel Lions

West-Oak is 1-9 against Daniel since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The West-Oak Warriors will head out to square off against the Daniel Lions at 7:30 p.m.

West-Oak's tournament run continued when they took on Greer Middle College on Monday. West-Oak fell 53-43 to Greer Middle College. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Blazers are ranked 101st).

Meanwhile, Daniel entered their tilt with Collins Hill last Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They snuck past the Eagles with a 66-60 victory.

West-Oak better focus on containing Tristyn Carrington and Will Swann as the pair were huge in Daniel's win. Carrington went 8 of 15 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Swann went 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points along with six boards and five assists. That's the most points Swann has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Lipsey, who posted six points and three steals.

Daniel pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for West-Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

West-Oak suffered a grim 76-53 defeat to Daniel in their previous meeting back in January. Can West-Oak avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
