Softball Recap: Pine Ridge Takes a Loss

Pine Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 18-2 to the Seabreeze Sandcrabs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sandcrabs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 last Friday.

Pine Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Pettit, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Carla Rivera also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Pine Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-8-1. As for Seabreeze, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Ridge will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Taylor at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th. Taylor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season. Seabreeze also won't see the field for a while: their next match is against DeLand at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th.
