Softball Recap: Jerome Comes Up Short

Jerome was the 7-5 winner over Canyon Ridge when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Riverhawks by a score of 13-12 on Monday.

Ellie Helmer and Emma Allen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Helmer went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Allen got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Allen has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Thompson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Jerome's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Canyon Ridge, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jerome will take on rival Minico at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Canyon Ridge is set to square off against their familiar foe Mountain Home at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
