Baseball Recap: Dickson County Triumphs

Dickson County proved they can win big on Friday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 25th.

Dickson County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-16 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Shelbyville Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-8.

Looking ahead, Dickson County will be playing in front of their home fans against Waverly Central at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Shelbyville Central, they will challenge Spring Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.36 runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
