Basketball Recap: Gaither Comes Up Short

Gaither was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Newsome Wolves, falling 66-44. The Cowboys were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.

Despite the loss, Gaither still got an impressive performance from Jayce Humphries, who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Daivon Kindred, who had ten points.

Gaither's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Newsome, their win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1.

Gaither will challenge Wiregrass Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wiregrass Ranch's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Newsome, they will welcome Armwood at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Armwood will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Newsome surely won't give up without a fight.
