Rodge Waldrop of Brookwood is the Georgia High School Football Player of the Week

Senior signal caller put up nearly 700 yards through the air in wild win over Deerfield-Windsor.

After receiving more than 8,000 votes, Rodge Waldrop of Brookwood (Thomasville) is the MaxPreps Georgia High School Football Player of the Week.

Waldrop, a senior quarterback, threw for 698 yards and nine touchdowns without an interception in a wild 59-56 victory over Deerfield-Windsor. Wide receivers Seth Boggs and Rex Schofill each had four touchdown receptions.

Here are the rest of week's candidates:

Trey Brenton, Thomas County Central (Thomasville): Senior rushed for two touchdowns and caught another, tallying 128 yards in a 56-0 win over Tift County.

Fred Brown, Coffee (Douglas): Senior running back rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns in 62-6 victory over Bradwell Institute.



Javin Gordon, Stephens County (Toccoa): Junior running back found the end zone six times and rushed for 201 yards in 52-7 win over Franklin County.

Julian Lewis, Carrollton: Sophomore USC commit passed for 455 yards and six touchdowns in 56-24 victory over East Coweta.

Cameran Loyd, Walton (Marietta): Senior wide receiver found the end zone three times and tallied 196 receiving yards in 35-27 victory over No. 16 North Cobb.

Gavin Owens, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap): Junior quarterback completed 12 of 13 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns in 57-22 win over Metrolina Christian Academy.

Jovanni McGee, Langston Hughes (Fairburn): Junior wide receiver caught two of Air Noland's three touchdown passes in a 54-29 win over East Paulding.

K.J. Smith, Roswell: Senior quarterback threw for four touchdowns on just 10 attempts and added 48 yards on the ground in 84-6 win over Lassiter.



Ahmed Souare, Loganville: Junior wide receiver had 13 catches for 290 yards and four touchdowns in 51-50 win over Clarke Central.
