Softball Recap: Springfield Wildcats vs. Northmont Thunderbolts
Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Northmont Thunderbolts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunderbolts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-9 on Friday.
Springfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabel Rogers, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Maiya Nicewaner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Northmont, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Springfield will square off against rival Miamisburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Northmont is set to take on their familiar foe Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
