Football Game Preview: Highland Cougars vs. Clark County Indians + How To Watch

Highland is 1-9 against Clark County since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Highland has given up an average of 51.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Highland's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Monroe City on Friday. They were outmatched by the Panthers and fell 68-0. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Panthers are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clark County). They walked away with a 32-20 win over Westran on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Highland better keep an eye on Brennan Fuller. He was instrumental in Clark County's win, rushing for 98 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Fuller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lukas Weaver, who picked up 115 receiving yards and one score.

Clark County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Weaver.

Clark County's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Highland suffered a grim 40-16 defeat to Clark County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 32-8.
