Basketball Recap: Cortez Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dysart, Cortez was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-41 win over the Coronado Dons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-24 on January 7th.

Leading Cortez to victory were Cassius Henderson and Kaden Ramirez. Henderson posted 15 points, while Ramirez dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Ramirez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nygel Lindsey, who put up six points and six boards.

Cortez pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Coronado, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tempe the next time they take the court. Cortez will host Tempe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Coronado will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
