Basketball Recap: Coahulla Creek Colts vs. Ridgeland Panthers
The Coahulla Creek Colts won the last time they faced the Ridgeland Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Coahulla Creek took down the Panthers 63-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Coahulla Creek.
Cullen Marti continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Quarles, who scored 13 points.
Defeat or not, Ridgeland got some senior leadership from Anthony Baldwin and Matthew Ramsey. Baldwin scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Ramsey. scored 14 points.
Coahulla Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Ridgeland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.
Coahulla Creek will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the Colts like a good challenge. As for Ridgeland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ramblers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. LaFayette is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
