Baseball Recap: Horizon's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Horizon won the last time they faced Skyline and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Horizon Huskies' pitcher stepped up to hand the Skyline Coyotes a 3-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Connor McDonald tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Chris Quigg was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Horizon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Horizon's record is now 5-3. As for Skyline, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 7-1 record.

Coming up, Horizon will be playing at home against Poston Butte at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Horizon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Skyline, they will take on Arcadia in a tournament on Wednesday. Skyline is facing Arcadia at the right time seeing as Arcadia is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
