Vanguard took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Dunnellon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights won by a set and slipped past the Tigers 3-2.

Vanguard wouldn't go down easily and took Dunnellon into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-13, 21-25, 23-25, 15-10.

Khelan Woods paced Vanguard's offense, picking up 15 kills. Woods got some help from Aidan Bone and his 20 assists. Bone was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Vanguard now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Dunnellon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Vanguard and Forest, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Dunnellon, they will challenge Lake Weir at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
