The Rosary Academy Royals are taking a road trip to take on the Sage Hill Lightning at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Rosary Academy will be strutting in after a win while Sage Hill will be coming in after a defeat.

Rosary Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 14-13 victory over Laguna Beach. The win continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Breakers: they've now won four in a row.

Rosary Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophie Lickl, who picked up 107 receiving yards and one touchdown. Lickl was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 65 yards.

Another reason for the win was Rosary Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Sofia Prieto.

Meanwhile, Sage Hill fell victim to Portola and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 44-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Lightning haven't been shut out since back in August.

Rosary Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Sage Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Rosary Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sage Hill in their previous meeting back in September, but they still walked away with an 18-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
