Volleyball Recap: Dixie Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Dixie hadn't done well against Crimson Cliffs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Flyers won by a set and slipped past the Mustangs 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in August.

Dixie got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 29-31, 25-21, 21-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Jaselle Mills was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 28 digs. Those 28 digs gave her a new career-high.

Dixie was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Crimson Cliffs still got an impressive performance from Lily Jones, who had 29 digs and two aces. Jones has been hot, having posted 16 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Dixie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Crimson Cliffs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Dixie is set to face off against their familiar foe Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs will take on rival Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
