Softball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Takes a Loss

Northwest Cabarrus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to the South Rowan Raiders. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Isabella Ellis and Molly Hatley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ellis scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Hatley scored a run while going 3-for-4. Langston Harrison also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Northwest Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for South Rowan, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Cabarrus will take on Lake Norman Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Rowan, they will square off against Lake Norman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
