Basketball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Rushford-Peterson

On Friday, the Rushford-Peterson Trojans made easy work of the De Soto Pirates and carried off a 66-42 win. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sylvia Krueger, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Krueger is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylee Venner, who posted 16 points.

Rushford-Peterson pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for De Soto, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rushford-Peterson has already played their next match (against Cotter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. De Soto will head out to take on Kickapoo at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Kickapoo will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something De Soto surely won't give up without a fight.
