Service faced Chugiak in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-100) Service actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12.

Dakota Evans paced Service's offense, picking up 20 kills. Evans got some help from Tahtiani Keliikipi and her 30 assists. Lily Ruiz and Isabella Brown kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Service's victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 15-8-3. As for Chugiak, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-10.
