Football Recap: Bonneville Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Bonneville extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the Hillcrest Knights, falling 49-14. While losing is never fun, the Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Knights are ranked fourth).

Bonneville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aden Mora, who rushed for 147 yards while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and Kaine Rodriguez, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown. Mora showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 56 yards.

As for Hillcrest, the victory was the seventh in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average over those games.

Hillcrest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyson Sweetwood led the charge by throwing for 312 yards and three TDs while completing 82.1% of his passes. Dax Sargent was in the mix as well, providing the Knights with three scores.

Bonneville will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Idaho Falls at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Hillcrest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thunder Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
