Basketball Game Preview: Tremont Eagles vs. Tharptown Wildcats

The Tremont Eagles will square off against the Tharptown Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Tremont's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Tharptown has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

On Monday, Tremont humbled Potts Camp with a 62-35 victory. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Tremont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zeela Travis led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Travis' ninth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley White, who shot 55% from the field on her way to 13 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Tremont was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tharptown and Shoals Christian, and Shoals Christian kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flame last Friday.

Tharptown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Tremont, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
