Basketball Recap: Berea Comes Up Short

Berea was the 54-40 winner over Leslie County when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Berea Pirates had to suffer through a 83-56 loss at the hands of the Leslie County Eagles. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leslie County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jesse Hoskins, who went 5 for 6 to rack up 12 points. The dominant performance also gave Hoskins a new career-high in shooting accuracy (83%). Zach Couch was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Berea's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Leslie County, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Coming up, Berea won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southwestern at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Leslie County, they will welcome Knox Central at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
