Basketball Recap: St. Ursula Academy Comes Up Short

St. Ursula Academy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Seton on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Seton Saints by a score of 67-65. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Kaitlyn Hess was nothing short of spectacular for Seton: she went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 33 points and three steals. Hess continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Aubri Korfhagen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine assists.

St. Ursula Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Seton, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

St. Ursula Academy and Seton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. St. Ursula Academy (ranked 176th) will meet Mercy McAuley (ranked 375th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Seton (ranked 174th) will meet Ursuline Academy (ranked 452nd) at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
