Baseball Recap: Catskill Gets the Win

Catskill won the last time they faced Germantown and things went their way on Monday too. The Cats walked away with a 6-1 win over the Clippers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cats.

John McKenna made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Catskill is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-10 otherwise. McKenna was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Dolan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Sawyer Bulich was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Catskill's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Germantown, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Coming up, Catskill will face off against Hudson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bluehawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Cats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Germantown, they will take on Cairo-Durham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
