The Adair County Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Taylor County Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Adair County and Clinton County, and Adair County kept the tradition alive. The Indians were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Bulldogs on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Rodgers made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Zane Gist was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Adair County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Aiden Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Adair County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clinton County only posted an OBP of .360.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Taylor County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Mercer County 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.
Luke Hayes was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs.
Taylor County pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Adair County, their record now sits at 9-6.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Adair County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Taylor County struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Adair County was able to grind out a solid win over Taylor County in their previous matchup on April 1st, winning 9-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
