Basketball Game Preview: Booker Tornadoes vs. Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons

Having just played yesterday, the Booker Tornadoes will get right back to it and host the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Booker will head into Monday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 37) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Sickles, sneaking past 67-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tornadoes have posted since January 18, 2024.

Meanwhile, Charlotte waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 50-34 win over the Blue Devils. Given the Fightin' Tarpons' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 69th in Florida, while the Blue Devils are ranked 212th in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charlotte pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Booker, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-6.

Booker might still be hurting after the 49-27 defeat they got from Charlotte when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Booker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
