Basketball Recap: St. Ignatius Takes a Loss

St. Ignatius lost against Troy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The St. Ignatius Bulldogs fell 66-59 to the Troy Trojans.

Despite the loss, St. Ignatius still got an impressive performance from Lex LaFrombois, who posted 31 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent Shepard, who put up eight points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, St. Ignatius smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

St. Ignatius' loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Looking ahead, St. Ignatius will be playing at home against Plains at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Ignatius is facing Plains at the right time seeing as Plains is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Troy, they will challenge Thompson Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Thompson Falls will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Troy surely won't give up without a fight.
