Basketball Recap: St. John's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

St. John's tournament run continued when they took on Inman on Tuesday. The St. John Tigers walked away with a 45-33 win over the Inman Inman Teutons. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Inman Teutons are ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. John found their leader in freshman Emmett Delp, who posted 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Delp has scored at least a third of St. John's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Vieux, who put up ten points.

St. John has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Inman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

St. John will head out to square off against LaCrosse on Tuesday. St. John is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season. As for Inman, they will be taking part in a tournament against Cimarron at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Cimarron has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
