Soccer Game Preview: Forest Hills Central vs. Catholic Central

The Forest Hills Central Rangers are taking a road trip to square off against the Catholic Central Cougars at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Forest Hills Central was handed a three-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Christian. Given Forest Hills Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Christian are ranked 99th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Catholic Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Ottawa Hills with a sharp 8-0 win on Friday. Catholic Central haven't had any issues with Ottawa Hills recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Forest Hills Central's record is now 10-2-4. As for Catholic Central, the win got them back to even at 6-6-2.

Forest Hills Central beat Catholic Central by a goal when the teams last played back in April, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
