Basketball Recap: Kadyine Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Angleton over Iowa Colony

Angleton lost against Iowa Colony back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Angleton Wildcats took an 83-77 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iowa Colony Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Pioneers are ranked 106th).

Angleton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kadyine Jones, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 20 points. That's the most points Jones has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Campbell, who posted 16 points and eight boards.

Angleton's defeat dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Iowa Colony, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing La Porte the next time they take the court. Angleton will host La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Iowa Colony will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
