Softball Game Preview: Weed Cougars vs. Redding Christian Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Weed Cougars face off against Redding Christian Lions at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Weed has now lost 14 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 5.

Weed saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell 9-5 to Princeton.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Redding Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Plumas Charter, falling 16-1.

Redding Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Norah Kim, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Redding Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Weed, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Weed came out on top in a nail-biter against Redding Christian when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 12-11. Will Weed repeat their success, or does Redding Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
