Softball Recap: Orange Grove Wins Going Away Against Kaufer

Orange Grove got themselves on the board against Kaufer on Friday, but Kaufer never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Kaufer Seahawks with a sharp 18-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Malorie Velasco made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Velasco was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Jaydyn Tabarez was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ella Srubar, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Orange Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Orange Grove's win bumped their record up to 2-0-1.

Coming up, Orange Grove will hit the road for the first time this season to take on George West at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kaufer, they will venture away from home to challenge Taft at 12:20 p.m. on Friday.
