Baseball Recap: Okawville Comes Up Short

Okawville extended their losing streak to 13 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-13 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Sparta Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 on Monday.

As for Sparta, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-10. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 15-0).

For Sparta's part, Braden Reinhardt was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The Bulldogs are undefeated when Reinhardt posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Skylar Spivey, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Okawville has already played their next matchup (against Steeleville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Sparta, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-5 defeat against DuQuoin on the 2nd.
