Maurice Zabala and Jacob Smith were among the main playmakers for Joppa-Maple Grove as the former dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds and the latter scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Zabala has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. AJ Lyle was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Galatia took care of business in their home opener last Monday. They secured a 59-54 W over Sandoval.
Joppa-Maple Grove's victory lifted them to 2-3 while Egyptian's loss dropped them down to 1-4.
