Basketball Recap: Shawnee Mission Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Annajoy Walker and Lilly Walker

Shawnee Mission Christian was the 31-26 winner over Eagle Heights Christian when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell 27-23 to the Eagles on Thursday.

Shawnee Mission Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Lilly Walker and AnnaJoy Walker. Lilly posted four points in addition to 12 rebounds and six steals, while AnnaJoy had eight points and seven boards.

Shawnee Mission Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Eagle Heights Christian, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Shawnee Mission Christian will take on St. Joseph D in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eagle Heights Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Mustangs' contest: after the Mustangs face off against Whitefield Academy, they'll take on Eagle Heights Christian again at 5:30 p.m. on January 16, 2026.
