Softball Recap: Smithfield Falls Short Against Ranked Cranston West

Smithfield faced Cranston West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Sunday. The Sentinels fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Sentinels in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost three in a row.

Smithfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Howard, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Smithfield's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Cranston West, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

As of now, neither Smithfield nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
