Basketball Recap: Nelsonville-York Takes a Loss

Nelsonville-York fought the good fight in their overtime game against Trimble on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trimble Tomcats by a score of 41-39. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buckeyes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-37 back in December of 2024.

Mckenzie Eing continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Trimble, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Eing has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abby Weber, who posted ten points and five steals.

Nelsonville-York has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Trimble, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Nelsonville-York will be playing at home against Southern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nelsonville-York is facing Southern at the right time seeing as Southern is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Trimble, they will head out on the road to face off against Wellston at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Wellston: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Trimble has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
