Baseball Recap: Victory Christian Takes a Loss

Victory Christian entered their game against Verdigris on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Conquerors took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Conquerors' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Bandit Thomas was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Victory Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Butterfield, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Victory Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Verdigris, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.
