Baseball Game Preview: Eagle Pass Eagles vs. United Longhorns

Eagle Pass is 8-2 against United since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. Eagle Pass' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so United's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Eagle Pass' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Alexander. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

The result came thanks to Aquiles Garcia's shutout, as he gave up just eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on DJ Aranda, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Eagle Pass is undefeated when Aranda posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-9-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was David Hernandez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while it was United who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Medina Valley who put up more. The Longhorns fell 6-2 to the Panthers. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hector Cadena made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Juan Suarez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

United's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12-1. As for Eagle Pass, they now have a winning record of 10-9-2.

Eagle Pass skirted past United 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Longhorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
