The Albuquerque Academy Chargers will venture away from home to challenge the Belen Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Albuquerque Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

While Albuquerque Academy's victory against Bernalillo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chargers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Spartans on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Matthew Delaney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Belen finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of Grants by a score of 3-2. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Albuquerque Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Belen, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Albuquerque Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Belen in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
